How to Purchase a USA Wrestling Membership Card

WRESTLER PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS

  • Be dressed and ready to practice at least 10 minutes before practice begins.

  • Listen to and respect the coaching staff.

  • Respect your teammates. Bullying, taunting, and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Always work to the best of your ability during drills and live wrestling.

  • Choose a practice partner who challenges you and helps you improve. Your best partner may not always be in your weight class or age group.

  • Coaches have the final decision regarding practice partners and training groups.

  • Remain for the entire practice unless a coach has approved an early departure in advance.

WRESTLER ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS

All wrestlers are expected to remain in good standing at school both academically and behaviorally.

A significant decline in grades or citizenship may result in a parent meeting with the coaching staff.

PARENT PRACTICE ROOM EXPECTATIONS

  • Parents are always welcome to observe practice.

  • During practice, please do not communicate with your athlete during warm-ups, instruction, live wrestling, or conditioning.

  • Please keep conversations quiet, especially during instruction.

  • If you have concerns or questions for the coaching staff, please speak with a coach before or after practice—not during practice.

  • Parents are expected to maintain a positive and supportive attitude toward all athletes, coaches, officials, and families. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior may result in being asked to leave practice.

PARENT VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS

Parents are encouraged to volunteer whenever possible at fundraising events and club activities.

Thank you for supporting Betsu Wrestling Club.

TOURNAMENT EXPECTATIONS

  • Wrestlers should arrive one hour prior to the start of competition unless instructed otherwise.

  • Coaches will lead the team through a structured warm-up before competition.

  • Families of athletes who finish competing are encouraged to remain and support their teammates for the remainder of the tournament whenever possible. We understand that travel schedules sometimes make this impossible, but we ask everyone to remember that we compete as a team.

  • During travel, maintain communication with the coaching staff. Arrive well in advance of weigh-ins and competition sessions. If travel delays occur, notify a coach immediately so tournament officials can be contacted if necessary.

  • Wrestlers are expected to wear Betsu Wrestling Club apparel at tournaments whenever possible.

  • Wrestlers are expected to demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship and represent Betsu WC with integrity both on and off the mat.

COACHES' FEES (STATE & NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS)

Coach travel fees help cover transportation, lodging, and other travel expenses.

  • Weekend coaching fee: $400 per coach

  • In most cases, one coach will travel. Additional coaches may attend depending on the number of participating athletes.

  • Coaching expenses are divided equally among all participating athletes.

  • Athlete participation will be finalized one week before the event.

  • Any athlete who cancels after the final confirmation date will remain responsible for their portion of the coaching fees.

  • Every effort is made to keep Total Event fees for each athlete below $400. However, larger events such as Super 32 (North Carolina) and Fargo (North Dakota) typically exceed that amount due to travel costs.
